zack de la rocha

He was born in Long Beach, California in 1970. He is a very intelligent person who tries with all that anger and rage to change the state of the world. He first was into a band called "Inside out". The name "rage against the machine" comes from a song title he wrote with that band. Zack's parents got divorced when he was one year old and zack moved with her mother to Irvine. While that his father, Beto de la Rocha who lived in Lincoln Heights, was a member of the Chicano art movement called Los Four. But he got into a serious mental breakdown, and him and Zack destroyed all his works and paintings which was really painfull for Zack. Beto de la Rocha also became very religious and he used to lock himself out from the outside world. Zack gradually distanced from his father, but still keeping a good relationship. Now Zack has said that his father has started painting and writing again, knowing what his son is doing. So Zack stayed with his mother, living in one of whitest community in Southern LA. It has been said that zack's community considdered him something a little better than a wetback. Being his father ill, he lost some ties in the Chicano community, adding the people's behavior towars zack, he suffered a big culture shock. He knew Timmy Commerford in University high (actually zack introduced him into bass). It was in those years when Zack got fascinated by the Zapatista Movement. Nowadays, Zack has given presentations to high school students, he has organized a group if college students to visit Chiapas. He also is a member of the national Commission for Democracy in Mexico and has visited Chiapas to lend a helping hand.
